A Word About Deposits and Withdrawals at Online Casinos

Two of the most important activities you can engage in when you are starting out in the online casino world are depositing money and withdrawing it; depositing, since that is how you open up an account and get going in the first place, and withdrawing, because that is how you wind up walking away with money in the end. That makes sense, doesn't it?

Yes it does, and that is why it makes sense to take a few minutes to investigate it.

You might be able to use your major credit card to open up an account at an online casino, but there are some clear drawbacks to it. First, they are not going to be available everywhere. Largely, they are not a viable option if you are living in the United States, so you'd have to find some other way to go. Also, understand that you are sharing the information directly with a casino, and some people are a little squeamish about that. Also, they are rarely able to be used as a withdrawal method.

So electronic wallets are available as a "buffer" between you and the casino, and you can use them to open up an account just as easily. Examples of electronic wallets are Neteller, Moneybookers and UseMyBank, and they can sometimes be used to channel withdrawals through as well.

You can also write an "eCheck" to the casino, which is really the same as writing a check from your bank account, except that it is being done in an electronic form. Of course, here you are offering up bank account information, and you'd be doing the same by executing a bank transfer, which isn't very feasible within the United States, since the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) is centered upon transactions with online casinos that involve banks.

Withdrawals at some casinos are slower than others. That's just the way it is. Make sure you investigate how long a typical withdrawal takes, and through which method. Call customer service and ask someone at the casino if you have to.

So while on the one hand, you want to use a method that is convenient for you, you also want to ensure that you are going to be safe and get results as quickly as possible from it.
